The Risk Organization at PayU is a dynamic, data-driven team responsible for developing and implementing strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks across our payment ecosystem. We leverage advanced analytics, machine learning, and business intelligence to protect both our merchants and customers from fraud while ensuring seamless payment experiences. About the Role:

As a Senior Data Analyst in our Risk Organization, you will play a pivotal role in transforming complex data into actionable insights that drive risk management strategies. You will be responsible for designing and implementing analytical frameworks, creating comprehensive dashboards, and developing data models that enable proactive risk identification and mitigation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on PayU's risk management capabilities while working with cutting-edge technologies in the fintech space.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reporting systems to monitor key risk metrics and KPIs
  • Perform in-depth analysis of transaction patterns, user behaviors, and market trends to identify potential risks and opportunities
  • Develop and implement data models and algorithms to detect and prevent fraudulent activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions
  • Create and automate regular reports for stakeholders across the organization
  • Conduct root cause analyses for risk incidents and recommend preventive measures
  • Support the development and refinement of risk policies based on data-driven insights
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains through data analysis
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in risk analytics and data visualization
  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to building analytical capabilities within the team

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or related quantitative field
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or related roles, preferably in fintech, payments, or financial services
  • Proven experience with data analysis tools and languages such as SQL, Python, R, or SAS
  • Strong proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms)
  • Experience in setting up dashboards and reporting systems from scratch
  • Knowledge of risk management concepts and fraud detection methodologies is highly desirable
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work with large, complex datasets
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex analyses to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, etc.) is a plus
  • Understanding of machine learning concepts and their application in risk management is advantageous
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
