About the Team
The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team at PayU supports business leaders with financial insights that enable informed decision-making, effective planning, and sustainable growth. The team works closely with multiple business functions across PayU’s fintech ecosystem, including payments, lending, and other financial services. As part of the FP&A team, you will gain exposure to budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, variance analysis, and business performance tracking. You will work in a collaborative environment that values analytical thinking, attention to detail, continuous learning, and teamwork.
About the Role
We are looking for a P1 Analyst – FP&A to join our team in Mumbai. This is an entry-level opportunity for a motivated finance professional who is interested in developing a career in financial planning and analysis. In this role, you will support the team in preparing financial reports, analysing business performance, tracking budgets and forecasts, and generating insights for internal stakeholders. You will work with business and finance teams to collect, validate, and interpret financial data while developing a strong understanding of PayU’s business and financial processes. The role is well suited for someone who is curious, analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a fast-paced fintech environment.
Responsibilities:
- Support the preparation of periodic financial reports, management reports, and business performance updates
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and planning activities for assigned business areas
- Perform variance analysis by comparing actual performance against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods
- Collect, consolidate, and validate financial and operational data from multiple sources
- Prepare and maintain financial trackers, dashboards, and analysis files
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews
- Assist in analysing revenue, expenses, profitability, and key business performance indicators
- Develop a basic understanding of business drivers and highlight key trends or deviations
- Partner with finance and business teams to obtain relevant information and resolve data-related queries
- Support the preparation of presentations and reports for internal stakeholders
- Assist with financial modelling, scenario analysis, and ad hoc business analysis
- Maintain accurate and organised documentation for reports, analysis, and planning activities
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and reduce manual effort
- Support automation and process-improvement initiatives within the FP&A function
- Contribute to special projects and other finance-related analyses as required
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 1–2 years of relevant experience in finance, reporting, accounting, or analysis may apply
- Strong academic foundation in financial concepts, accounting, and business analysis
- Basic understanding of budgeting, forecasting, financial statements, and variance analysis
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, sorting
