ABOUT PAYU FINANCE

PayU Finance is a leading fintech lending company, part of the global PayU Group, committed to democratising financial services across emerging markets. We leverage cutting-edge technology and data-driven insights to provide innovative credit products to individuals and businesses. Our Risk & Analytics team sits at the heart of our lending business, ensuring responsible growth through rigorous credit risk frameworks, regulatory compliance, and advanced quantitative modelling.

ROLE OVERVIEW

1. Portfolio Monitoring & Performance

Monitor the performance and risk trends of the Personal Loans, SMB Loans, and Transaction Credit portfolios across origination, delinquency, roll rates, losses, vintages, cohorts, and customer segments.

Maintain regular portfolio reviews, investigate material movements and concentrations, and translate observations into clear risk actions.

2. Portfolio & Risk Insights

Generate portfolio and risk insights through recurring analysis, deep dives, and early-warning reviews to support responsible growth and sound credit decisions.

Diagnose key drivers of performance changes and communicate concise, evidence-based recommendations to relevant stakeholders.

3. Leadership Dashboards & Reporting

Develop and maintain leadership dashboards and management reporting that provide a clear view of portfolio health, risk trends, key metrics, and emerging concerns.

Improve the consistency, timeliness, and usability of dashboards by partnering with Data, Technology, Risk, and Finance teams.

4. Credit-Risk Risk Appetite Statement

Support the definition of the credit-risk Risk Appetite Statement for the covered portfolios, including the metrics, thresholds, and monitoring approach used to assess risk-taking.

Periodically review the Risk Appetite Statement using portfolio performance and risk insights.

5. Risk Guardrails & Ongoing Monitoring

Define risk guardrails for portfolio growth, underwriting, exposure, delinquency, and other relevant risk dimensions in partnership with Risk Policy, Finance and Business teams.

Monitor the guardrails throughout the year, track exceptions and trends, and support timely escalation or corrective action when limits are approached or breached.

6. Risk Escalation & Stakeholder Partnership

Raise red flags and highlight key risk concerns to Risk Policy, Collections, Business, and Finance, supported by clear analysis and an assessment of potential impact.

Work cross-functionally to align on priorities, follow up on actions, and ensure that material portfolio developments receive appropriate visibility.

7. Analytics, Data Quality & Process Improvement

Use SQL, Excel, Python, AI and business intelligence tools to improve recurring portfolio analysis, data quality checks, reporting, and risk monitoring processes.

Contribute to analytical projects and automation that strengthen controls, reduce manual effort, and improve the scalability of portfolio risk management.
