About the Team
The Taxation team within the Finance function of PayU Payments is responsible for managing the organisation’s tax compliance, advisory, audit and litigation-related matters. The team works closely with Finance, business stakeholders, external tax consultants, auditors and tax authorities to ensure timely compliance and effective tax governance.
About the Role
We are looking for a P3 Assistant Manager – Direct Taxation to join our Taxation team in Gurgaon. The role will be responsible for managing end-to-end direct tax compliances for all Mindgate entities across India, the UAE, the US, the UK and Singapore. The role will also support central Direct Tax functions, including tax advisory, review of business agreements, tax audits, assessments, litigation support, tax optimisation and direct tax accounting and reconciliations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end direct tax compliances for all operating companies, including:
- Tax Audit Reports (TAR)
- Income Tax Returns (ITR)
- Transfer Pricing (TP) compliances
- Advance tax
- DTCT
- Statement of Financial Transactions (SFT)
- Coordinate with international tax consultants for direct tax compliances across the UAE, US, UK and Singapore entities.
- Analyse domestic and international business agreements from a direct tax perspective.
- Manage queries, notices, assessments, surveys and summons raised by tax authorities.
- Assist in collating and submitting information in response to income tax audits and notices issued by the Income Tax Department.
- Coordinate and collate details related to direct tax litigation.
- Maintain professional relationships with tax authorities and external tax advisors.
- Explore efficient solutions for tax optimisation and support the implementation of applicable tax policies.
- Work with the Finance team to ensure compliance with direct tax policies across business operations.
- Provide assistance during statutory audits on direct tax matters.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations for direct tax-related general ledger accounts.
- Support central direct tax functions and other related initiatives as required.
Requirements:
- Relevant experience in direct taxation, tax compliance and related advisory matters.
- Working knowledge of Indian direct tax compliances, including tax audit, income tax returns, transfer pricing, advance tax and SFT.
- Exposure to international direct tax compliances and coordination with tax consultants across overseas jurisdictions.
- Ability to review domestic and international business agreements and identify direct tax implications.
- Experience in handling tax notices, assessments, audits, surveys, summons and litigation-related matters.
- Understanding of direct tax accounting and balance sheet reconciliation of tax-related general ledger accounts.
- Strong analytical, documentation and problem-solving skills.
- Strong coordination and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work with Finance, business teams, auditors, tax consultants and tax authorities.
- Ability to manage multiple tax compliances, deadlines and deliverables with accuracy and attention to detail.
