Associate Director, Product Solutions & Strategy (PSS)

Role Overview:

The Associate Director in the Product Solutions & Strategy (PSS) team will be a visionary leader responsible for strategizing and delivering world-class product solutions tailored to meet the needs of PayU merchants. This individual will lead a high-performing team, drive cross-functional collaboration, and ensure the implementation of customized and scalable technology solutions that align with PayU’s goals. The role combines leadership, client-centric product innovation, and operational excellence to elevate PayU’s competitive advantage in the digital payments space.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership and Development: - Lead, mentor, and motivate the Product Solutions & Strategy (PSS) team to achieve objectives. - Foster an environment of continuous learning and growth, equipping the team with tools for success. - Encourage ownership and accountability among the team members.

2. Strategic Initiative and Planning: - Spearhead the development and execution of strategic roadmaps for enterprise & SMB merchant solutions. - Align team goals with organizational strategies to drive scalable and innovative product solutions.

3. Stakeholder Management: - Act as a key liaison between Merchants, the sales team, and Product teams to define and implement customized solutions. - Maintain active communication with senior leaders, sales teams, and engineering/product/Operations units to ensure client expectations are met.

4. Product Innovation and Oversight: - Define and design new business solutions that meet client business objectives. - Innovate and propose new products and services to help PayU stay ahead of market trends. - Address and mitigate gaps between custom and core product offerings.

5. Knowledge of Indian Payment Ecosystem: - Demonstrate deep knowledge in the payments landscape, including UPI, Net Banking, BBPS, Cards, PPI wallets, QR, Subscriptions, Cross Border Payments and other APMs. - Leverage expertise in fintech payment solutions to identify market-specific needs and add value to service offerings. - Continuously monitor and analyze market dynamics to anticipate upcoming trends and adapt strategies to meet the evolving payment ecosystem.

6. Operational Excellence: - Drive efficient processes for the delivery of solutions, ensuring timelines, budgets, and customer satisfaction objectives are met. - Oversee performance metrics and ensure consistent improvements in product solutioning and Merchant satisfaction.

7. Drive Product Adoptions and Go-To-Market (GTM): - Lead cross-functional efforts to drive product adoption and usage among PayU merchants. - Develop and execute Go-To-Market strategies for product launches and enhancements, ensuring alignment with PayU’s strategic objectives. - Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to build awareness and advocacy for PayU’s product offerings within target markets.

8.Segment-Wise Strategy Development: - Drive a segment-wise strategic approach to tailor solutions that align with the unique needs of different Merchant needs. - Leverage market insights to identify key segments and design specific value propositions for each segment. - Ensure effective execution of these strategies to maximize product adoption and merchant satisfaction across different market segments.

9.Business and Merchant Impact: - Build trust-based relationships with Merchants by demonstrating technical and business acumen. - Present PayU’s innovative products stack solutions to address their challenges and contributions to PayU’s revenue growth initiatives.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

1. Experience: - 12+ years combined experience in presales, product solutions, or product management within fintech or technology environments. - Proven track record as a leader in the digital payments industry or relevant field. - Expertise in managing relationships with enterprise clients and balancing stakeholder objectives.

2. Educational Background: - Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is mandatory. - MBA or equivalent advanced degree will be highly Preferred.

3. Knowledge and Technical Expertise: - Comprehensive understanding of online payment systems, including familiarity with the Indian payments ecosystem and regulatory frameworks. - Strong engineering background to provide technical guidance to customers and internal stakeholders. - Proven ability to evaluate, integrate, and predict emerging technologies or payment platforms.

4. Leadership and Soft Skills: - Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities. - Proven ability to manage large teams and deliver consensus-driven leadership across organizational levels. - Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, able to represent PayU at high-level client meetings and forums. - Strong track record of driving impactful results and managing simultaneous priorities.
