About the Role: 

  • We are seeking experienced Lead to join our South Omni Offline team. This is a field-based role where you'll be the face of PayU, building relationships with merchants and driving adoption of our offline payment solutions. You'll leverage your payment gateway expertise and POS sales experience to deliver end-to-end omnichannel solutions that transform how businesses accept payments.. 

 

 

Responsibilities: 

Merchant Acquisition & Relationship Management 

  • Conduct field visits to meet prospective and existing merchants across South India 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with merchants, understanding their business needs 

  • Present PayU's offline payment solutions including POS terminals and QR code solutions 

  • Drive merchant onboarding and ensure smooth implementation of payment solutions 

Omnichannel Sales & Solution Consulting 

  • Leverage payment gateway knowledge to offer comprehensive omnichannel payment bouquet 

  • Provide consultative selling approach, recommending optimal payment mix for merchant businesses 

  • Demonstrate POS terminals and QR solutions, highlighting integration with online payment gateway 

  • Support merchants in understanding the benefits of unified payment ecosystems 

Sales Target Achievement 

  • Meet and exceed individual sales targets for POS and QR solution acquisitions 

  • Generate new business opportunities through field prospecting and merchant visits 

  • Manage sales pipeline and maintain accurate forecasting and reporting 

  • Focus on revenue growth and merchant lifetime value optimization 

Market Intelligence & Feedback 

  • Gather market insights and competitor intelligence during field visits 

  • Provide feedback to product teams on merchant requirements and market trends 

  • Identify opportunities for product enhancement and new solution development 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Requirements: 

Essential Qualifications: 

  • 5-8 years of proven experience in Payment Gateway and POS sales 

  • Strong field sales background with extensive merchant interaction experience 

  • Deep understanding of payment gateway operations, POS systems, and QR payment solutions 

  • Omnichannel payment knowledge - ability to connect online and offline payment experiences 

  • Excellent relationship building and consultative selling skills 

  • Willingness to travel extensively across South India for field visits 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, or related field 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Previous experience with fintech companies or payment service providers 

  • Existing merchant network and relationships in South India 

  • Knowledge of merchant onboarding processes and compliance requirements 

  • Experience with CRM tools and sales reporting systems 

  • Understanding of retail, hospitality, or small business ecosystems 

Key Competencies: 

  • Plug-and-play readiness - minimal training required on payment fundamentals 

  • Self-motivated with strong field sales discipline 

  • Customer-centric approach with solution-oriented mindset 

  • Excellent communication skills in English and regional South Indian languages 

  • Results-driven with proven track record of achieving sales targets 

  • Adaptability to work in diverse merchant environments 

Territory: South India (specific regions will be assigned based on experience and preference)
