About the Role
We are seeking a Lead Network & Firewall Engineer (L3) with 10+ years of hands-on experience in network and security engineering, preferably in BFSI, payments, or other regulated environments. The ideal candidate will have recent experience in a lead or senior engineering role, managing production 24×7 environments, and will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting our network and firewall infrastructure
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage network and firewall operations, including Fortinet FortiGate (preferred) or Juniper SRX, with hands-on experience in HA firewalls, policy management, NAT, and VPNs (IPsec/SSL).
- Oversee Cisco L2/L3 switching, VLANs, trunking, STP, port-channels, BGP, and static routing.
- Architect and support AWS networking (minimum 2 years), including VPC design, route tables, IGW, NAT, Transit Gateway, AWS Network Firewall, and DDoS protection (AWS Shield).
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (RBI, PCI DSS, SOC/SOC2), support audits, and maintain documentation and SOPs.
- Act as L3 escalation, mentor junior engineers, lead incident handling and RCA, and participate in change management/CAB.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, high-availability network solutions.
Requirements:
- 12+ years in network/security engineering, with recent L3/ Manager experience.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Fortinet FortiGate or Juniper SRX firewalls.
- Proven experience with Cisco L2/L3 switching and BGP.
- Solid AWS networking background, including VPC, Transit Gateway, and security controls.
- Experience in regulated environments (BFSI, payments, fintech) and compliance frameworks.
- Demonstrated leadership, ownership, and incident management skills.
Preferred Certifications:
- CCNP/CCIE, Fortinet NSE, Juniper JNCIA/JNCIP, AWS Networking or Associate level.
